Common questions

Where are my files stored?

Our current apps work primarily with local files and data. Unfolio handles your own comic files, Screenoir opens video and subtitle files, and ScreenWriteMe stores your scripts locally. Access to a cloud file provider or optional backup folder depends on what you select on your device. Read the privacy policy for more details.

How do I back up my ScreenWriteMe scripts?

Open the backup controls in the script list, choose a folder using Choose Folder…, and select a location such as iCloud Drive. When configured, ScreenWriteMe saves dated backups as you leave scripts or close the app.

How do I restore a ScreenWriteMe backup?

Open the backup controls and choose Restore from Backup…, then select a backup file. If you accidentally deleted a script, choose a backup created before the deletion.

How can I export a ScreenWriteMe script?

Open the script, tap Share, then choose PDF or Fountain. The system share sheet lets you decide where to save or send it.

Why won't a Screenoir video play?

Check that the file still exists, has downloaded completely, and uses a supported codec. A file extension alone doesn't guarantee that every video or audio track within it can be decoded. If a file was moved or renamed, remove its playlist entry and import it again.

How do I add subtitles in Screenoir?

Open a video and go to Subtitles & Audio to choose an embedded track or attach an external subtitle file. Matching subtitle files can also be detected during folder import.

Does deleting an app delete my original files?

Deleting an app can remove its locally stored information. Files you saved elsewhere, such as in Files or an external cloud provider, may remain there. Confirm that you have copies of important content before deleting an app or backup folder.

What if I have a feature suggestion or found a bug?

Send an email with the app name and a description of what you would like to see or what went wrong. Suggestions are welcome and don't require an account.

Respecting your privacy

Don't send private scripts, comics, videos or personal documents unless you specifically choose to share them for troubleshooting. Our apps don't transmit those files to us automatically. See the shared privacy policy.
